I had never used a mezzaluna chopper before purchasing this one, and I got the Pedrini at the same time I ordered an inexpensive double-bladed one, which I purchased only because I wanted the concave cutting board that came with it. I've used the two-bladed chopper only once; cleaning it is a scary hassle. But I love my Pedrini and use it often. It feels good in my hand, is very sharp, and it's a breeze to use and to clean up.
Do keep the blade cover that comes with the chopper. I store mine horizontally, in the cover, on a wall-mounted magnetic strip. It takes up a lot of the strip, but I don't have to worry about getting cut, so it's worth it.
