Description of Pedrini Stainless-Steel Shaker

The three-piece shaker includes a tumbler, snug fitting lid, and small cap that fits over the lid to cover the built-in strainer. To use, add ice, booze, and other ingredients to the tumbler, twist on the lid, position the cap, and shake vigorously. Then remove the cap and strain the liquid into a chilled glass, making sure to keep the lid held tightly in place. The lid on this shaker stays in place better than most; many require extra attention to avoid spilling accidents. Because the seal works so well, in fact, it may occasionally get stuck since a partial vacuum is formed during the chilling of the cocktail. If this occurs, a swift downward shake or snap of the wrist should loosen the parts. --Emily Wolf
